Fudgey Chewy Chocolate Brownie with Ice Cream DRINKS 1. Lemon & Strawberry Freeze 2. Mango Smoothie 3. Strawberry Smoothie 4. Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice STARTERS Brushetta. Erm. I could only sat it was slightly similar to the one you can find at pastamania. Despite it being decorated so nicely and everything. Still, EXTRA POINTS FOR PRESENTATION! :D Obviously there were 4 pieces, (and that's my dad's hand stealing one). Essentially the tomatoes were cold, well, they were SUPPOSED to be cold anyways. The herb combined nicely with the sweet freshness of the tomatoes to give this fragrant blend of spices. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ (3/5) Grilled Portobello Mushroom One word, DELICIOUS. Smoky deliciousness that brought the word "MUSKY" to my mind immediately. Don't ask why, I didn't, I was too busy enjoying the succulent flavour of the mushroom. Soft and slightly chewy, the cheese was slightly congealed, maybe because it didn't melt properly. But yet again, this restaurant seems to favour tomatoes, having used it in this dish too. There wasn't much flavour from the tomato, but the mushroom leaked deliciously fragrant juice, probably the sauce. It was the largest mushroom I had ever set my eyes on, and despite the size, the chef had made the texture even throughout the mushroom, leaving me wanting for more of that soft and delicious mushroom. The presentation was just slightly messy, for when we cut the mushroom, there were leaves beneath it in a disarray, probably moved around when we were sawing away. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ (4.5/5) Fish Cake Despite reviews saying that the fishcake was delicious, it lacked the traditional fish flavour I expected, afterall, it was FISH cake. On a plus to that, I rather have a dislike for parsley, which unfortunately was inside this dish. The salsa was cold and tangy, not to my taste. But kudos to the chef for keeping the fishy SMELL from the fishcake. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ (3.5/5) DRINKS Lemon & Strawberry Freeze It was really sour and tangy, not to mention cold and slushy. The citrus taste was very strong and there was little trace of strawberry. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ (2.5/5) Mango Smoothie Disappointing. It tasted distinctly like mango sorbet, not of fresh mango. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ (3/5) Strawberry Smoothie By far the best of the lot, the strawberry smoothie was fresh and sweet. Deep within it's slushy depths I could even find seeds! It's sugary sweetness wasn't fake and chemical, it was natural and fragrant. Definitely my favourite. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ (4.5/5) Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice Apparently, this was supposed to be freshly squeezed. Yellow colour aside, it's tangy sourness was obviously real, on top of it's obvious fresh and cool taste upon the tongue. On a lighter note, I would have preferred tropicana orange juice. at least tropicana orange juice is sweet, not nose wrinkling sour. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ (3/5) MAINS Crab in White Wine Sauce Upon the first bite, I could already taste the rich flavour of the crab. It wasn't too overwhelming, just perfectly THERE. Every bite was a new taste, a new level of richness. This was a dish i would probably never get tired of. The crab meat was succulent and sweet, sweet in a crab way. Tasty with no hint of wine, my personal favourite. On a side note, I didn't like the little leaves inside. Slightly bitter. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ (4.5/5) Veal Parmagiana Nothing very very special. There was a whole dollop of cheese on top of the veal. >.< I LOVED the asparagus. And being an asparagus hater usually, I found the asparagus on this fresh, cool, and crisp. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ (3.5/5) Mancini PIZZA! :D My 2nd favourite out of the three mains! The crust was thin and the BBQ sauce was slightly sweet. The onions were not overwhelming and neither was the pepper, in fact, they complemented the BBQ sauce perfectly O_O. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ (4/5) DESSERT Fudgey Chewy Chocolate Brownie with BELGIUM CHOCOLATE ice cream. Two pictures to indulge you all! Well, the ice cream is in the little container behind, as you can see. Was pretty disappointed, because firstly the ice cream is clearly NOT belgium chocolate. It isn't even gelato! boo. But, IT HAD LITTLE NUT BITS INSIDE :D so yeah. THE BROWNIE. was absolutely heavenly. Loved it! Good presentation, and the brownie was SOFT and CHEWY! Like it was warm in the centre, and melted slightly in the move. Delicious rich flavour, thick and sweet without being overwhelming. OH! and the tiny raspberry by the side is edible! It tasted like.. well.. the texture was jelly like and really soft. Like gummy! but it was really sour. Quite nice though! (besides the sour-ness) ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ (4.5/5) -points deducted for ice cream. stupid icecream. LOL. Other ice cream flavours include: Hazelnut, Strawberry, Vanilla Cognac, Wildberries Yogurt, Mango Sorbet. I really wanted to try their Mango and Galliano Creme Brulee though. Or maybe their Banana Cinnamon Crumble with Ice cream. Next time maybe :D Labels: food review, review |
